2. Backerboard Prep
We secure stable, non-porous cement backerboards or modern uncoupling membranes rather than plywood, creating a solid, moisture-resistant base.
3. Alignment & Leveling
Using multi-line lasers, we map out straight centerlines. We use tile-leveling clips during thinset installation to prevent any uneven raised edges (lippage).
4. Hydrophobic Grout
We pack joints with highly engineered, stain-resistant grout. We clean the film immediately, finishing with transition moldings and a pristine site sweep.

06Can you tile over our existing floor?
Sometimes. Tile can go over a sound, flat, well-bonded surface, but we usually remove old tile or vinyl so we can check the subfloor. We’ll let you know which makes sense after we look.
07Do we need to seal the grout?
Standard cement grout should be sealed and resealed every so often. Epoxy and many newer stain-resistant grouts don’t need sealing, which saves time in a busy beach house.
