Hardwood Floor Repair in Hampton Roads, VA
Stained, cupped, squeaky or split boards rarely mean a whole new floor. We weave in matching boards, fix the subfloor underneath, and refinish so the repair disappears.
What is your floor doing?
Most floors we get called about have one of these eight problems. Most of them are a repair, not a new floor.
Pick the closest match. You’ll get the likely cause, the fix, and how soon it needs looking at: the same answer you’d get on a walkthrough.
How we patch
Why we weave repairs in
A repair should disappear. Cutting out a neat rectangle is faster, but the straight seam it leaves shows from across the room. Toggle to see the difference.
Hardwood repairs we handle
Most damage is local, so fixing the affected boards costs far less than a new floor.
Board replacement
Stained, split or rotted boards come out and matching boards are woven in.
Water damage repair
Moisture readings and dry-out first, then repair and refinish once the wood is ready.
Pet damage
Urine-stained boards replaced; scratches sanded out with a refinish.
Squeaks & loose boards
Re-fastened from below or with hidden screws from above.
Subfloor repair
Soft spots opened up, damaged subfloor replaced and leveled.
Patching after remodels
Filling in where walls, vents or cabinets came out, matched to your floor.

Hardwood repair FAQ
Can damaged hardwood be repaired instead of replaced?
Usually. Most damage is local, so we replace the affected boards, weave in matching wood and refinish to blend.
01Can you match my existing hardwood?
Usually, yes. We identify the species and board width, source matching wood, weave it in, and refinish the area or the room so the color blends.
02Do I have to refinish the whole floor after a repair?
Not always. A small repair can be finished to blend in, but new wood next to old finish often looks different. Refinishing the room gives the most even result, and we will tell you honestly which you need.
03How do you fix squeaky hardwood floors?
We fasten the boards or subfloor back down to the joists, from below when there is a basement or crawl space, or with small hidden screws from above.
04Should I repair or replace my floor?
Most damage is local, so repairing the affected boards and refinishing costs far less than a new floor. Replacement makes sense when damage is widespread or the boards have been sanded too thin.
05Can water-damaged hardwood be saved?
Often. Cupped boards frequently flatten once the moisture source is fixed and the floor dries. Boards with black stains or rot are replaced. Our water damage guide covers the first 48 hours.
