Suffolk LVP Replacement: Failed Install Fixed and Re-laid in Wide Plank
A failed, low-grade LVP job torn out, the settled floor of an older home leveled flat, and a clean blonde wide plank installed with custom thresholds.

The Restoration Journey
This older Suffolk home already had luxury vinyl plank, but the floor installed by another contractor had failed. The homeowners wanted it done right this time, with a modern, clean look that suits the tall windows and classic trim of the house. We took the old floor out, fixed what was underneath, and installed a blonde wide plank that brightens the whole room.
The Problem
The first install used low-grade material, and it was laid over areas of the floor that had settled over the years without correcting them first. Click-lock LVP needs a flat base. Over dips and humps the joints flex every time you walk on them, and cheaper planks wear and separate quickly. Different flooring also met in several doorways, and those transitions needed to be finished properly.
The Solution
We removed the failed flooring down to the subfloor, then corrected the settled areas with self-leveling compound so the new floor would sit flat and stay quiet. Over that level base we installed a quality blonde wide plank LVP, with planks run to suit the long, open room. Where the new floor meets carpet and other flooring, we made custom thresholds so each change of floor is clean and safe to walk over. The result is a bright, modern floor that feels solid underfoot and is built to last.
